A reset fee is what a firm charges to restart a failed evaluation on the same account size without buying a new one. Resets matter because failing once is normal: the economics of second attempts is a bigger cost driver than the headline evaluation fee.

Pricing varies by model. CFD firms typically price resets at or near the original fee - some discount them. FTMO Futures prices resets below entry: $109/$159/$219 on Growth against subscription prices of $119/$169/$229 (checked 28 October 2026). Topstep re-bills the subscription and banks a Reset Credit with every rebill you pay while still active, so persistent traders do not always pay twice (help.topstep.com, checked 28 October 2026). FundedNext sells resets but withdraws the option once a funded account is live.

Why it matters: a firm where resets cost the full fee and fail-rate is high turns a $540 evaluation into a four-figure hobby. Budget two attempts, and prefer firms whose reset economics reward persistence. Costs beyond the fee: reset fees in full and what prop firms cost.
